🔷 Traditional Japanese craftsmanship

Hand-forged in Miki, Hyōgo Prefecture by the Nagao Kanekoma factory, the only official Higonokami maker since 1894. Each piece is stamped “Mitsuosaku,” a signature of authenticity and artisanal expertise passed down through five generations.

🔪 Aogami Warikomi Blade – Blue Paper Steel

This knife uses Aogami (Blue Paper Steel), a high-carbon steel known for outstanding sharpness, long edge retention, and ease of sharpening.

The Warikomi forging technique inserts a hard steel core between softer outer layers for a balance of durability and flexibility.

  • Blade length: ~75 mm

  • Thickness: ~3 mm

  • Hardness: ~62 HRC

  • Edge: razor-sharp, excellent for detailed cutting, woodworking, or paper

🟡 Solid Brass Handle

The handle is made of natural brass, which will develop a unique patina over time. It offers a smooth grip, sleek aesthetic, and exceptional durability.

⚙️ Traditional Friction Folding Mechanism

True to Higonokami tradition, this knife uses a friction folder system without lock or spring. The thumb lever ("chikiri") allows easy one-handed opening, and the blade stays in place through handle friction.
